Palacete de la Najarra

The Palacete de la Najarra  is a neo-Arabic mansion or small palace built over an Arab house during the XIX century by  José Rubio Osorio and is located not far from the Playa de San Cristobal in Almuñécar.

It is a lovely, ornate two-storey building with a sort of tower on top, decorative tiles all round the facade, typical keyhole-shaped door arches and topped by a battlement effect.

The outer walls conceal a shaded courtyard area with fountains, plants and trees, seats, well, various garden ornaments and at the far end, a miniature house, a bit like a doll’s house in some ways.

The Council acquired the building on October 30th 1989 and the ground floor now houses the Tourist Office.
